Health & PE Specialist


Michael W. Mason

Mike Mason is the Maryland State Specialist of Physical Education. As the Specialist for Physical Education, Mr. Mason oversees K-12 physical education in Maryland. He coordinates the development of the K-12 physical education standards, the voluntary state physical education curriculum, and professional development for Maryland physical education teachers. Mr. Mason works with representatives from college and university physical education departments to promote K-16 physical education. Mr. Mason has been a physical educator for 36 years. Prior to coming to MSDE he was the physical education and adapted physical education resource teacher in Baltimore County Public Schools.
