| Overview: Students will invent games
and complete activities
about how games are
played. They will start by
working in groups to create
new games using bags of
objects. They will read
about the diffusion of
soccer throughout the
world. They will explore the
need for a universal set of
rules as the sport grew to
international status. Then
the children will apply the
principle of making
universal rules as they play
in a class tournament and
plan for a third grade
tournament.
