English/Core Learning Goals
.
CLARIFICATION DOCUMENTS
To achieve consistency of language and understanding and to provide clarification of the skills and processes of the English Core Learning Goals, the documents on these pages were written and subsequently distributed to every high school English teacher in Maryland during the 1997-1998 school year.
A selected bibliography of professional readings appropriate to each goal can be found at the bottom of each goal's clarification document. Much of the research found in these readings was used to guide the development of the Core Learning Goals.
