School Improvement in Maryland
English / Core Learning Goals

The English High School Assessment assesses some of the Expectations and Indicators of the Core Learning Goals, a subset of the Content Standards of Maryland's State Curriculum. Though this section will identify the Indicators to be assessed as well as the related Assessment Limits for the Core Learning Goals, it is important to note that an instructional program needs to include all of the content standards, not just those that are assessed. The full set of content standards defines what Maryland believes that students need to know and be able to do.
