Standard 1.0 Skillfulness

Students will demonstrate the ability to enhance their performance of a variety of physical skills by developing fundamental movement skills, creating original skill combinations, combining skills effectively in skill themes, and applying skills.

  • 1. Demonstrate and apply fundamental movement skills in an authentic situation.
Objectives
  1. Show non-locomotor and locomotor skills in complex movement patterns including the elements of speed, pathways, directionality, levels, and space.
  2. Identify and use fundamental movement skills such as: throwing, catching, kicking, and striking in a game or an activity.
  3. Identify and show activities that enhance the skill-related fitness components: power, speed, reaction time, agility, balance, and coordination.

  1. Use an individual movement sequence to exhibit emotions, expressions and feelings using implements such as: wands, hoops, balls, rhythm sticks, jump bands, and tinikling sticks.
