The State Curriculum Toolkit is a project developed and implemented by the Maryland Sate Department of Education (MSDE) in partnership with Local School System (LSS) personnel. The project has two goals. The first goals is to provide Maryland educators with additional resources that will assist them in the instruction of content and skills contained in the State Curriculum. The second goal is to enhance student learning in the classroom, as well as improve student success on all Maryland assessments.
Explanation of Specific Resources
Each clarification provides an explanation of an indicator/objective to help teachers better understand the skills and/or concepts.
A lesson seed is found at the objective level and is an idea for a lesson. The seed is directly aligned with an objective and ranges in cognitive demand. The sequential development of the lesson idea may begin at a lower level of cognitive demand and then evolve into a higher level of cognitive demand. Teachers may use the entire seed or only a portion of a seed based upon the capability of their classes. |
