| The Maryland Model for School Readiness Staff Development Syllabus Language and Literacy
The Maryland Model for School Readiness (MMSR) is a school readiness framework designed to support teachers to improve assessment and instruction that support young children's readiness for school. In order to implement the MMSR effectively, teachers of young children receive intensive staff development. This two-day workshop has been created as an MMSR Literacy Summer Institute that is being funded by the Reading Excellence Act. The focus is on the revised Maryland Model for School Readiness (MMSR) Language Development Outcomes and Indicators. The modules are designed to provide participants with the most current early literacy research and strategies for appropriate literacy instruction. Module I
