The items appropriately measure the content of the VSC and may be formatted similarly to those appearing on the MSA; however, these are sample items only and have not appeared on any MSA form.

Indicator 1. Identify, describe, extend, and create numeric patterns

Objective a. Represent and analyze numeric patterns using skip counting by multiples of 2 and 10 starting with any whole number, and using manipulatives and the 100 chart

Sample Assessment Question (SAQ) Item

Proficient
Student uses 100 chart to correctly count by tens and twos and points to the corresponding numbers on the chart as he/she counts.

In Process
Student uses 100 chart to count by tens but has difficulty using the 100 chart to count by twos.

Needs Development
Student has difficulty when using the 100 charts to count by tens and twos and becomes confused and starts over several times.
