Sample Assessment Question (SAQ) Item

Proficient
Student has 3 cars and recognizes that he/she has the same number of cars as a friend. Student then compares 4 trucks to the friend's 2 trucks and says, "I have more trucks than you."

In Process
Inconsistently counts small sets of objects and does not make comparisons.

Needs Development
Plays with objects but does not count or make comparisons.
