Key Actions
- Analyze monitoring data
- Decide what changes are needed
- Communicate progress and any needed changes
Key Questions
- What do our monitoring data tell us about our progress?
- Do our data suggest we need to change course?
- What do we need to do differently?
- What progress or lack thereof do we need to communicate?
- How will we communicate changes in direction and in expectations for what staff needs to do differently?
Once the team has analyzed the monitoring plan, they will have a good idea whether the progress they are making with improving student achievement is adequate in meeting the annual measurable objective. If progress is not satisfactory, then the school will need to clarify the problem and revise their strategies. The change in strategies may also change expectations for what staff does or how they do it. Consequently, engaging staff in the data analysis process throughout the implementation cycle will be critical to their understanding of why changes need to happen. A good communication plan will be critical to keeping staff and other stakeholders on the same page.
